The Oceanwaves dance on Friday, June 15, 2007, was a celebration of Bobby Poyner's 25th anniversary as a square dance caller.  Bobby, of course, was the caller for the dance.

Pictured at the left are Bobby, Aaron, and Amber Poyner.

Bobby recalled how he first began as a caller during the summer he was 12 years old when his father, Bob Poyner, a square dance caller, handed the microphone to him.  Bobby had been attending square dances since he was a baby and dancing since he was about 8.

Aaron does not plan to wait that long.

Ann and Bob Poyner, on the left, moved to Florida some years ago.  Bob Poyner is still calling square dances.

A large crowd was in attendance, but there was plenty of anniversary cake for everyone.
